Below are a couple simple sketches of some kite sculptures that I'm making for a year long outdoor sculpture exhibition at Jenkins Arboretum and Gardens this fall followed by a few pictures of the work in progress.

Project update: CHS Tree

Below are a few sketches of the proposed tree that I am building for the lobby of Community Human Services in Oakland (Pittsburgh) to be completed in September followed by some pictures of the piece in progress.

chalktopus!

Julie and i have been eyeing this dried up fountain space in the Northside for some time and finally decided that it was time to get out the old sidewalk chalk and turn it into something special. in this case, a cardinal rose and an octopus, which we have so fittingly dubbed the chalktopus.

We've had a few mishaps in our abode with old chairs falling apart. so when i found a pile of stumps a few blocks from home, i knew what had to be done. this is the result of salvaging an old chair with a goal of sturdiness in mind!
